At White Rock Church of Christ we strive to be people who follow the will of God that is revealed to us in the New Testament. While we recognize and honor both the Old Testament and the New Testament as the Word of God, we understand that the teachings of the New Testament are God's will for all people today. It is our desire to study the New Testament carefully and then put into practice what God wants, both in our public worship assemblies and in our daily personal lives. Even when we do our best, we know we still fall short of perfect obedience so that is why we rejoice in the marvelous grace of God!
The grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ is the only hope of mankind for eternal salvation. We realize that this is a bold statement and that it is not in harmony with the "politically correct" nature of American society today. But this is truth that is clearly seen in the New Testament. Please get your Bible and look up these verses: John 14:6, Acts 4:8-12, Romans 6:20-23, and Ephesians 2:8-10. These are some select passages among many in the New Testament that support the truth that it is only by God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ that we may be saved to an eternal home in Heaven with God.
What fantastic truth this is! When I do what God instructs in the New Testament to respond to His gift of grace, I can be sure that my sins are forgiven. God promises that I will have a home in Heaven if I will remain faithful. If you would like to know more about this, call the church office, send us an email, or come to visit with us and we will be glad to share with you what God says in the New Testament about receiving His gift of salvation in Christ.
It is our hope that anyone who comes to visit with us will be blessed, first by God and then also by us as His people. We want it to be apparent to anyone who comes to visit that we strive to worship God "in spirit and in truth" (John 4:24). We are determined to follow God's instructions in the New Testament in our pubic worship and in living our lives every day as faithful disciples of Jesus even though that may put us at odds with the prevailing views of society regarding religion. In keeping with our heritage as people who desire to restore simple New Testament Christianity, we want to speak where the Bible speaks and be silent where the Bible is silent. We want everyone to know that we are joyful and grateful to be saved. Furthermore, we want to share our wonderful faith in God with our friends, family and neighbors!
